At HSB Canada, we're driving innovation and excellence in the insurance and applied technology services industry. As an Area Manager in our Toronto office, you'll play a key role in improving the effectiveness of our Inspection Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 4-8 inspectors, reviewing their reports and ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to team members, evaluating and monitoring their performance to meet department goals.
  • Handle employee issues and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Provide feedback to team members to improve inspector reporting quality and efficiency.
  • Lead projects to improve department efficiencies and processes, ensuring timely completion.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree with P.Eng designation (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of field experience in industries like manufacturing, power generation, mining, petroleum, and pulp & paper.
  • Working knowledge of boilers and pressure vessels.
  • National Board Commission required (or ability to obtain).
  • Certificate of Competence required for jurisdictional inspections in Ontario (or ability to obtain).
  • Commercial insurance background is an asset.
  • Advanced capabilities in computer application software, databases, and analytics tools.
  • Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Excel functions.
