Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) Program

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is committed to supporting new nursing graduates and Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) in their transition to practice.

The NGG program provides 12 weeks of full-time employment above staffing complement, followed by full-time employment or equivalent hours as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) within 12 months.

Program Benefits
  • Comprehensive orientation program, including General Hospital Orientation, Interprofessional Orientation, and Unit-specific Orientation
  • 12 weeks with a Nurse Preceptor for support and guidance
  • Nursing Mentorship Program for ongoing support and guidance
  • Simulation Workshop to enhance clinical nursing skills
Qualifications
  • Graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited university or college
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) within the last 12 months
  • Eligible for the NGG Program
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
  • Membership with the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) or other professional nursing associations preferred
Competencies
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in Nursing Practice at the new graduate level
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and effective time management ability
  • Ability to think critically and effectively to prioritize needs in emergency situations

Salary Plan listed is based on the ONA Collective Agreement for Registered Nurses with a General Class License with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), Salary Band ON02.
