Environmental Health and Safety Manager

BGIS is a leading provider of customized facility management and real estate services. We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HSE team, you will be responsible for executing and supporting health, safety, and environment programs for assigned accounts, ensuring ongoing compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute and govern health, safety and environment programs
• Promote a high health, safety and environment culture for assigned accounts
• Provide guidance and advice to account and client team members on health, safety, and environment matters
• Collaborate with account teams to ensure team members are provided with adequate tools and resources to ensure the safe execution of work
• Conduct internal systems audits
• Manage hazardous materials program and implementation across all account sites
• Achieve health, safety and environment objectives for assigned accounts
Requirements:
• College or University degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences
• Strong understanding of Designated Substances/Asbestos Management and regulatory requirements
• 3 to 5 years of health, safety, and environment program execution work experience
• Knowledge of health, safety and environment regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of internal auditing
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environment management systems
• Strong program development and execution abilities
• Bilingual French/English required depending on the account
• Ability to promote health, safety and environment programs and influence stakeholders to achieve health, safety and environment objectives
