Residential Care Worker

At WRHA Community Health Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Residential Care Worker will provide client and facility support, working closely with the Men's Services Leadership Team to deliver high-quality services. This role requires a commitment to a client-centred philosophy and approach to the development and support of WRHA programs and client services.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate respectfully and positively with clients and staff, presenting oneself in an approachable and friendly manner.
- Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for client-centred care and empathy, responding to client requests in a responsible, timely, and flexible manner.
- Foster a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for clients, considering their needs and the needs of other staff members and the organization.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities, participating in reciprocal learning experiences with colleagues and supervisors.
- Recognize the importance of regular individual and team supervision meetings, maintaining active listening abilities and responding positively to supervision.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and professional ethics, integrity, and responsibility, managing own emotions and strong feelings in challenging circumstances.
- Commit to the agency's mission, vision, values, and objectives, working collaboratively with the team to achieve shared goals.
- A suitable combination of education and experience working in a residential facility, addictions-related employment experience, and/or volunteer work.
- Experience working from a client-centred perspective, with a strong understanding of the addictions field.
- Valid CPR-C with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and First Aid certification, as well as fluency in English and knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and beliefs.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing high-quality client services. The ability to work well within an inter-disciplinary team and contribute to a positive team environment is essential.
