Job Title: Residential Care Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Care Worker to join our team at WRHA Community Health Services. As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing client and facility support, working closely with the Men's Services Leadership Team to deliver high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate respectfully and positively with clients and staff, presenting yourself in an approachable and friendly manner.
  • Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for client-centred care and show empathy and compassion towards clients.
  • Foster a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for clients, promoting a positive team culture.
  • Respond to client requests in a responsible, timely, and flexible manner, considering the needs of clients, staff, and the organization.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities, participating in reciprocal learning experiences with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Recognize the importance of regular individual and team supervision meetings, actively listening and responding positively to feedback.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and professional ethics, integrity, and responsibility, managing your emotions and maintaining a calm composure under challenging circumstances.
  • Commit to the agency's mission, vision, values, and objectives, working collaboratively with the team to achieve shared goals.

Requirements:

  • A suitable combination of education and experience working in a residential facility, addictions-related employment, or volunteer work.
  • Experience working from a client-centered perspective, with a strong understanding of the addictions field.
  • Valid CPR-C with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and First Aid certification, as well as fluency in English (with proficiency in aboriginal languages and French considered an asset).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within an inter-disciplinary team and contribute to a positive team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Suitable physical health to perform required duties, with availability for shift work.
