Training and Development Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training and Development Consultant to join our team at the Toronto & York Region Métis Council. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of learning solutions that promote Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, Design, and Develop Learning Solutions: Collaborate with Indigenous partners to assess, design, and develop learning solutions that promote Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation.
- Conduct Research and Needs Analysis: Conduct research and needs analysis to identify training and development needs within the organization.
- Design and Deliver Training Programs: Design and deliver training programs that cater to all learning styles and promote Indigenous cultural safety and reconciliation.
- Supervise and Motivate Staff: Supervise and motivate staff to ensure effective teamwork, high standards of work quality, and organizational performance.
- Provide Input into Budget Administration: Provide input into and administer assigned budget to ensure that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
- Represent the Organization: Represent the organization at public meetings of industry stakeholders, community groups, social agencies, and business organizations.
- Lived Experience: Lived experience as a First Nations, Inuit, or Métis person, and experience working with Indigenous Peoples, communities, and/or organizations.
- Education and Experience: Post-secondary education in a professional discipline pertinent to the job function, including areas such as Indigenous governance, Indigenous studies, Indigenous social work/public health, human resources, adult learning, education, training and development, combined with relevant project management experience.
- Skills and Knowledge: Experience in needs analysis and research, designing, developing, and delivering engaging training courses, programs, and curricula, utilizing instructional design methodologies and adult education principles that support truth, justice, and reconciliation.
- Project Management Experience: Experience working with diverse internal teams and external partners to deliver training and education needs to enhance Indigenous education in the Toronto Public Service.
