About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at the East Coast Forensic Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and psychotherapy services to patients in need of mental health and addiction support.

The ideal candidate will have a recognized Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program and be registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP). A minimum of two years' relevant clinical experience is preferred, with training and experience in conducting psychological and cognitive assessments and consultations being essential.

Responsibilities will include working with the psychiatric inpatient rehabilitation unit and other forensic assessment teams, providing comprehensive assessments, treatment, and consultation services as needed. The successful candidate must demonstrate maturity and ability to work effectively with resistant and challenging client groups.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $39.39 to $51.78 per hour, depending on experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Recognized Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the NSBEP
  • A minimum of two years' relevant clinical experience, preferably in a forensic inpatient setting
  • Training and experience in conducting psychological and cognitive assessments and consultations
  • Maturity and ability to work effectively with resistant and challenging client groups
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
