Rural Family Physician Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Physician to join our team in the charming community of Porcupine Plain, located in north-eastern Saskatchewan.

About the Job

As a Family Physician, you will be responsible for examining patients, taking their histories, ordering laboratory tests and X-rays, and providing advice on health care. You will also consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, and provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.

  • You will work in a modern medical clinic located in the hub of our community center, surrounded by amenities such as a fitness room, gymnasium, library, MLA office, and playschool.
  • You will have access to advanced medical equipment and technology, including radiology services, laboratory services, and 24-hour emergency outpatient care.

Porcupine Plain is a nature lover's dream destination, nestled in the Porcupine Provincial Forest and just a short drive from Greenwater Lake Provincial Park. The town offers a four-season tourism experience, with opportunities for quadding, fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.

The local snowmobile club grooms over one hundred miles of pristine snowmobile trails, which connect to the 1,000 miles of trails in the NE for an unforgettable experience. Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Medicine and completion of a Family Medicine Residency Training Program.
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
  • A valid Saskatchewan driver's license and current Canadian Medical Protective Association membership.
