The Position: Disability Support Worker
We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team, responsible for providing personal care and safety to group home residents with cognitive and/or physical disabilities who have high medical needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Resident Care
- Providing medical, physical, and personal support, including personal care, medication administration, tube feeds, respiratory therapy, and other duties
- Facilitating resident daily living activities and participation in the community
- Housekeeping, laundry, and the preparation of meals and snacks
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline (e.g., Disability Support Worker, Continuing Care Assistant, etc.)
- Minimum of one year experience working with cognitively and/or physically disabled adults with high medical needs
- Comfortable in providing medical support as required
- Sign language is desirable
- Available to work shifts that include days, evenings, nights, and weekends
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to interpret, read, write, and speak English fluently
