At the Perenti Group, we're committed to delivering exceptional mining services to our clients. As a Scoop Operator with Barminco Mine Services Canada Ltd., you'll play a critical role in our Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario.

The Opportunity:

We're seeking a skilled Scoop Operator to join our team underground. This is a 14-day on/14-day off position with days and nights shifts. If you reside outside the Marathon, Ontario region, this is a 'drive in/drive out' opportunity.

As a Scoop Operator, you'll be responsible for your safety and the safety of your colleagues while operating loading units underground. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Mucking development headings and stockpiles (manual and remote)
  • Loading trucks with ore or waste
  • Keeping all working areas and travel ways free of debris and potential hazards
  • Assisting with other mine services as required
  • Being open to learning new methods and sharing your skills and knowledge with colleagues

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum high school diploma or equivalency
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely and ensuring the safety of others
  • Underground Common Core and specialty modules
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working underground
  • Previous experience mucking with Atlas Copco, Sandvic, and/or Cat loading units is an asset
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Good radio etiquette and strong communications skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist with a variety of tasks as required
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
