Electrical Foreperson Opportunity

Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Foreperson to join our team at the Hemlo Operations near Marathon, Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a targeted electrification project, establishing world-class operating practices on a large electrical and fibre system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with safety and standard operating procedures, ensuring crews are also in compliance
  • Direct underground Electricians and provide guidance for daily tasks
  • Support the mining group to minimize equipment downtime and ensure mine services are operational
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining underground tele-remoting with scoops and surface tele-remoting operations
  • Contribute to the installation of Sandvik Multilite operations across the mine
  • Provide feedback and coaching to develop/improve crew performance
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Superintendent to manage costs and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with client counterparts on various projects throughout the mine
  • Assist in electrical reticulation design for operating levels, installing splitter boxes, PTOs, and pump starters

Requirements:

  • Commitment to working safely and ensuring the safety of others
  • Ontario Provincial Trade License or Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) certification
  • 5-7 years' experience working in an underground mine
  • Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a leadership role
  • Experience working with high-voltage electric mining equipment and underground electrical reticulation
  • Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario Provincial Electrical Code, as well as CSA M421-00 codes related to underground mining
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while being a contributing team member
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
