Data Actuary

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Actuary to join our corporate reinsurance team at Optimum General Inc. in Montreal. This role is responsible for participating in the analysis and calculations related to policy liabilities, supporting the corporate actuarial team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in actuarial science or mathematics, with a university degree and experience in data manipulation using Excel and Access. Proficiency in AXIS is an asset.

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in the calculation of actuarial reserves according to current standards
  • Collect and analyze internal data necessary for liability calculations
  • Contribute to equity requirements calculations
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets
  • Support various experience studies

Additionally, the Data Actuary will be responsible for updating and validating the AXIS assessment system, developing and improving IT tools, and providing technical support to other team members and services.

Requirements and Skills
  • University degree in actuarial science or mathematics
  • Passed at least two Society of Actuaries (SOA) examinations
  • Basic knowledge of the insurance and/or reinsurance market
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, and excellent programming skills
  • Team spirit and good command of French and English

The estimated salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for data analysis, we encourage you to apply.
