Area Safety Manager

First Student is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, drivers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Risk Management, Location Management, and Maintenance teams to develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive incident investigations and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs for drivers and staff to enhance safety awareness and compliance.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to Location Managers and Safety Coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- 7+ years of experience in safety and transportation management.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- Advanced skills in technology used to manage operations.
- Collision investigation training and state/provincial instructor certification.
