We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller with expertise in real estate development and property management to join our team.

Position Overview: As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for various financial responsibilities across multiple companies. You will collaborate with the property management administrator, construction managers, and external accountants in a hands-on role. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to exciting projects and drive financial success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of financial feasibility projections for new projects.
  • Interpret lenders' requirements and assist lenders with due diligence.
  • Oversee budgeting, cost-to-complete project progress reporting for the quantity surveyor.
  • Record inter-company activity and manage payroll, payables, and receivables, primarily through pre-authorized debits.
  • Ensure compliance reporting (GST, WCB, T5018s, PST, source deductions, corporate tax instalments).
  • Perform CAM reconciliations for rental buildings and reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and mortgages.
  • Prepare management reports for the owner.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in accounting, particularly within real estate development and property management.
  • Strong understanding of financial feasibility, lender requirements, and project budgeting.
  • Proficiency in payroll, payables, receivables, and compliance reporting.
  • Experience with CAM reconciliations and management reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
