Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Accounting and Reporting Department at BC Ferries.

This role involves financial reporting, supply chain support, and project value analysis. As a key member of the team, you will provide professional accounting advice and contribute to fiscal responsibility through financial planning and analysis.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Will have a CPA designation and 3-5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • Will be experienced in financial statement preparation under IFRS and knowledgeable about internal controls and applications.
  • Will possess strong Excel skills and the ability to balance data analysis with timely decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure internal controls are appropriate with accounting process changes.
  • Analyze and reconcile accounts, providing professional advice where needed.
  • Review reconciliation and prepare financial statements.
  • Provide analysis and reports on ad hoc issues.

Salary Information

The target salary range is $102,200 - $127,700 per annum, based on the successful candidate's knowledge, experience, and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed this range on an exceptional basis.

What You Bring to the Team
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles and their application.
  • Experience using current major financial software, such as Oracle.
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
