About the Role

The L3Harris Anti-Corruption (AC) Program ensures the company, its employees, and third parties conduct global business ethically and transparently, complying with Anti-Corruption laws in all countries where L3Harris operates. The AC team ensures compliance with L3Harris policies, which prohibit bribery, kickbacks, and other forms of improper influences.

Job Summary

The Sr. Specialist, Legal Compliance will be the primary point of contact for assigned divisions on all matters relating to Anti-Corruption, serving as the AC Advisor (ACA) and Due Diligence Professional (DDP) supporting the Segment Anti-Corruption Officer (SACO) in implementing and managing the AC program, mitigation plans, audits, assessments, and other related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct due diligence on third parties, including sales consultants, distributors, and representatives, as required by L3Harris policy.
  2. Correspond with business sponsors from business development and other functional areas regarding due diligence, agreements, and third-party monitoring.
  3. Evaluate due diligence materials, assess identified red flags, offer initial risk assessments, and approve the use of third parties where permitted by corporate policy or segment procedures.
  4. Monitor CDR agreement renewal timelines and ensure renewal completion prior to expiration.
  5. Draft CDR agreements, participate in their negotiation, and liaise with SACO, Contracts, and Legal Counsel as necessary.
  6. Create and provide guidance and training materials on Anti-Corruption-related topics.
  7. Support the review of corporate Anti-Corruption policies from a business perspective.
  8. Designate gatekeepers and serve as a liaison to ensure effective implementation and efficient operations for the AC program.
  9. Coordinate with functional leadership and SACO to define specialized training needs and deploy local Anti-Corruption training as applicable.
  10. Review high-risk payments prior to issuance, including commission payments, to ensure proper due diligence has been conducted on the proposed recipient.
  11. Correspond with SACO and Corporate AC team on Anti-Corruption matters, including red flags and control failures.
  12. Review requests within divisions to provide or receive business courtesies, including reviewing applicable laws and policies, and escalating reviews when required by L3Harris policy.
  13. Support internal and external audits related to the AC program, CDRs, and/or business courtesies.
  14. Collaborate with functional leaders to implement local AC processes and AC controls listed in L3Harris' Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework.
  15. Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly Anti-Corruption Payment Reports as applicable under AC ICFR framework.
  16. Support self-assessments, including coordination at the request of the SACO, as applicable.
  17. Ensure completion of remediation plans resulting from Internal Audit, ICFR Compliance reviews, or other findings, as applicable.
  18. Support the investigation of potential red flags identified during due diligence or as may arise during the course of the relationship with third parties.
Required Capabilities
  1. Familiarity with the construction of agreements and understanding of the impact of foreign government regulations.
  2. Excellent written English communication skills.
  3. Excellent attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and willingness to take initiative; self-starter who is organized and able to work without close supervision; proven agility in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Avid team player who can also work independently with minimum supervision.
  5. Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively balance priorities to meet deadlines.
  6. Good organizational, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Articulate, able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including company leadership.
  8. Analyze metrics and large quantities of information to prepare reports.
  9. Strong sense of accountability, ownership, and responsibility.
  10. Demonstrated experience understanding complex policy and procedural requirements; ability to identify, evaluate, and propose solutions where necessary.
Desired Education and Experiences
  1. Requires strong knowledge of the job area.
  2. Typically viewed as having a specialty within the discipline.
  3. May have broad knowledge of project management.
  4. Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience in compliance, paralegal, or contracts. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  5. Foreign language would be an asset.
  6. Prior exposure to financial controls and auditing would be an asset.
