Manager, Small Modular Reactor Business Development

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our team as a Manager, SMR Strategy and Business Development. This role is part of our New Nuclear Growth team, which focuses on creating new business opportunities for OPG in the global Small Modular Reactor (SMR) industry.
Key Accountabilities- Develop revenue-generating opportunities around the deployment of SMR technology in Canadian and international markets.
- Help build OPG's new global SMR business by supporting this expansion through innovative business models, strategic partnerships, and industry relationships.
- Lead or partner with internal project or deal teams and work with external advisors on potential business opportunities.
- Develop an understanding of various SMR technologies and their potential as a viable decarbonized energy solution.
- Provide strategic business and commercial advice, guidance, and support.
- Monitor and assess key corporate strategic developments related to nuclear (internal and external) and facilitate the integration of business intelligence, information, perspectives, and analyses.
- Deliver internal briefings regarding strategy and opportunity definition.
- Assess and advise on specific electricity policy and/or strategic issues affecting OPG and address specific strategic queries by senior management.
- Project manage and/or support a range of strategic development and planning initiatives.
- Provide professional leadership, ensuring that staff seek out best practices, develop their skills to benefit OPG, and meet current needs and for succession planning in the organization.
- Ensure staff are fully engaged and aligned to business goals and objectives, promoting collaboration and teamwork, and instilling expectations of excellence and personal best performance.
- Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or Business Administration, or a relevant study is required.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Finance (MFin) is considered an asset.
