First Student Shared Services is seeking a skilled Licensed Mechanic to join our team. As a Licensed Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our school buses by performing routine maintenance and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues, including brakes, engine tune-ups, and transmission problems.
- Lead preventative maintenance (PMs) and safety inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other mechanics to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to ensure seamless workflow.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest industry technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
- Valid Mechanic license.
- Advanced problem-solving ability and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
