About the Role

Kleinschmidt Group is seeking a highly skilled Fisheries Engineer to lead fish passage projects and manage people, projects, and client relationships from our Halifax, Nova Scotia office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and/or manage structural, civil, and hydraulic design tasks in support of fisheries engineering projects.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and scientists in the delivery of fish passage projects.
  • Manage client relationships and ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with senior engineering advisors and principal engineers to ensure project success.
Requirements
  • Must possess a BS, BSc, or BEng in a relevant field and a minimum of 10 years' experience in fisheries or a closely related field.
  • Previous experience with fisheries project work is preferred, but candidates with a structural, civil, or hydraulic background who are interested in focusing on the fish passage and fish hatchery design fields would be considered.
  • Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to fisheries engineering and related disciplines is required.
  • Experience working with clients, agencies, and contractors during planning and construction of projects is essential.
