Your Role

Lumber Take-Off Estimator - reporting to our VP Sales & Design

Key Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and understand blueprints and building codes related to residential, and multi-family projects.
  • Examine drawings and blueprints for intent, conformity, and error.
  • Estimate the quantity and types of lumber and related materials needed for various construction projects.
  • Produce accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates for lumber and related materials using appropriate software tools.
  • Generate quotes quickly, efficiently, and accurately for customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to maintain excellent client interaction.
  • Communicate with engineers, architects, and contractors regarding project details before and during construction.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
  • Demonstrate skills working in a team environment.
  • Meet deadlines and attend company-sponsored training programs as required.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field - preferred.
  • Work experience in the lumber or construction materials industry.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and materials related to single-family, multi-family, and light commercial wood-framed construction.
  • Understanding of local building codes and construction practices.
