Since our inception in 1998, Tech-Wood has established itself as a reliable supplier of Engineered Wood Products, Roof Trusses, and has recently launched our cutting-edge Wall Panels in Calgary and its neighboring regions. Your Responsibilities:

As a Lumber Quantity Estimator, you will report directly to our VP of Sales & Design and will be responsible for:

  • Reading, interpreting, and comprehending blueprints and building regulations pertinent to residential and multi-family developments.
  • Assessing drawings and blueprints for clarity, compliance, and accuracy.
  • Estimating the quantities and types of lumber and associated materials required for various construction projects.
  • Generating precise material takeoffs and cost estimates for lumber and related materials utilizing suitable software tools.
  • Providing quick, efficient, and accurate quotes for clients.
  • Exhibiting outstanding customer service skills to ensure excellent client interactions.
  • Coordinating with engineers, architects, and contractors regarding project specifics before and during construction.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Demonstrating teamwork capabilities.
  • Consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Participating in company-sponsored training programs as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A technical diploma or degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in the lumber or construction materials sector.
  • Familiarity with construction processes and materials relevant to single-family, multi-family, and light commercial wood-framed construction.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and construction practices.
