About the Role

Brandt is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team in Regina.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze divisional & departmental monthly/annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
  • Provide operational level analysis on monthly financials and trends, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Reconcile GL accounts and prepare month end journal entries with supporting documentation.
  • Analyze large data to draw meaningful conclusions and provide recommendations.
  • Analyze profit and loss variances to prior performance and budgets.
  • Work with different divisions for intercompany processing and reconciliation.
  • Assist/prepare working papers required for quarterly and annual reserves & allowances.
  • Assist with the preparation of documentation required for the annual external audit.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Provide insight into various accounting requirements, including CRA requirements.
  • Provide advice and guidance on accounting matters, including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting.
  • Identify internal process gaps and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in continuous process improvement and ad-hoc projects.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with a drive for continuous improvement.

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in Business/Accounting, with preference given to those who possess an advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CPA).
  • 2-3 years of experience working as a Financial Analyst or Senior Accountant role.
  • Solid understanding of financial metrics, corporate finance, and accounting.
