Contract Negotiation and Procurement Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Subcontract Specialist to join our dynamic team at Woodfibre Management Ltd. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing high-value contracts and procurement activities, including commercial bid evaluation, negotiation strategy development, and contract terms and conditions review.
Key Responsibilities- Contract Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a solid contracting plan and strategy to align with budget, schedule, quality, cost, etc., to support project and business growth.
- Negotiation and Procurement: Develop a negotiation strategy for high-value contracts and/or procurement activities and participate in and/or lead commercial negotiations.
- Commercial Bid Evaluation: Lead the company's review on commercial bid evaluation and terms & conditions and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Procurement Coordination: Coordinate with internal project stakeholders to ensure the timely review and approval of all procurement and subcontract documentation, purchase orders, and agreements.
- Contractor Performance Monitoring: Monitor the contractor's performance, review, evaluate, and facilitate the approval of any change orders submitted by the contractor for high-value contracts and/or procurement activities.
- Process Improvement: Assist with project set-up procurement and subcontract processes, procedures, templates, systems, and reporting to ensure alignment with RGE policies, principles, and management expectations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in procurement and/or subcontracts for major capital projects.
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in oil & gas, chemical, or infrastructure industry preferred.
- Negotiation Skills: Experienced in high-value contract negotiation preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to provide insights and justification based on quantitative analysis and facts.
- Financial Modeling: Experienced in building robust and complex financial models.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communicator with the ability to prepare and present coherent and well-thought-out PowerPoint presentations to senior management.
- Team Player: Strong team player and high-performing individual with the ability to work in multi-cultural cross-functional teams.
- Data-Driven: Data-driven and commercially driven with strong analytical skills to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Adaptability: Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities within tight time frames.
- Communication: Communication/interpersonal skills – interacting with front-line workers through to management and all hierarchical levels.

- Location: As required, the position is based in Vancouver, BC, with travel to the EPC contractor's office in Houston, Squamish (site), and others.
