Seaspan ULC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Procurement Expert to join our growing team.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing and executing corporate-wide procurement strategies that drive value and efficiency across the organization. Your expertise in sourcing, contracting, and supplier management will be instrumental in ensuring Seaspan secures the best possible terms and conditions for its operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
  • Develop and execute competitive bidding strategies, ensuring fair and transparent procurement practices.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts with suppliers, safeguarding Seaspan's interests and minimizing risk.
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and mutual benefit.
  • Identify and implement strategic procurement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders on all aspects of procurement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing and contract management within a complex business environment.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing cost-saving procurement strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
