Job Title: Corporate Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our team at Myant Inc. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's legal strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise on commercial agreements, including contracts, licenses, and partnerships
  • Conduct legal risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects, including impact assessments and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee regulatory laws and risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Structuring, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements, including licenses, terms & conditions, service agreements, partnership agreements, and representative agreements
  • Working closely with the COO, business development, product, and marketing teams to ensure alignment and effective communication
  • Providing regulatory legal advice, guidance, and support for strategic transactions, including monitoring legal, regulatory, and market developments
  • Managing external counsel and corporate services providers
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on contract review, strategic transactions, and knowledge management
Requirements:
  • LLB or JD and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Strong corporate and/or commercial experience, preferably in the technology and start-up space
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex regulatory standards or legal concepts
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with influence and conflict resolution ability
  • US legal experience an asset
