Position Overview

The City of Kamloops is seeking a skilled Urban Planning Specialist to contribute to the development of the community. This role requires a well-organized and resourceful individual with strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of urban planning strategies and policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community needs and goals.
  • Analyze data to inform planning decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups and organizations.

Requirements

  • Completion of a university degree in Urban Planning or a related discipline.
  • Ability to acquire full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners within five years of employment.
  • Minimum of one year's experience as a planner in a municipal or private sector environment.
  • Valid BC Driver's Licence - Class 5.
