Role Overview

The City of Kamloops is seeking a motivated and resourceful Urban Planning Professional to contribute to our Planning & Development Department. This role requires strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills, as well as a well-organized and cooperative individual. As a City of Kamloops employee, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the community and participate in flexible work arrangements, including modified work schedules.

This is a great opportunity for a Planning and Development Coordinator to join our team and contribute to the development of our community. The successful candidate will have a university degree in Urban Planning or a related field, and must be able to acquire full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners within five years of employment. Previous experience in a planning role is also required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide technical and analytical planning support to the Planning & Development Department.
  2. Contribute to the development of urban plans and policies that promote sustainable development and community growth.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address planning issues and opportunities.
