About the Role

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social, life skills, and co-op situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students requiring academic support.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, educational staff, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as organization, time management, and self-advocacy.
  • Support students in developing social skills, including communication, conflict resolution, and empathy.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies to support student success.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as education, special education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students requiring academic support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
