Senior Legal Counsel Opportunity

Ernst & Young LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our General Counsel's Office. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal and policy advice, guidance, and support on a wide range of matters related to our regulated businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal and policy advice on regulatory and compliance matters affecting our operations
  • Monitor and advise on professional regulatory requirements and amendments
  • Conduct research and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice on issues affecting the business
  • Assist with the drafting and maintenance of corporate policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in projects with a regulatory impact
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable law, including corporate law, anti-money laundering, lobbying, sanctions, and industry-specific regulations
  • Excellent legal research skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide sound legal analysis and exercise good judgment
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and government officials is an asset
  • Licensed to practice law in any Canadian Province
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house at a sophisticated organization
