About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a temporary full-time Creative Lead to join our Integrated Marketing team.

The Integrated Marketing team is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to build the Canadian Blood Services brand, expand our donor base, and enhance donor loyalty.

The successful candidate will oversee the creative direction of all design and content, leading a team of graphic designers and writers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the Canadian Blood Services brand identity is consistently represented across all channels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to build the Canadian Blood Services brand and expand our donor base.
  • Oversee the creative direction of all design and content, ensuring alignment with business strategies and broader Canadian Blood Services goals.
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, writers, and other creative professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Lead the planning and execution of creative shoots and oversee the selection, cataloguing, and maintenance of creative assets.
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback during the creative process, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and creativity.
  • Work closely with the brand team to ensure alignment with brand expectations, guidelines, and feedback.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • 7+ years of graphic design experience with 3+ years within a creative leadership role.
  • Experience working within an in-house environment is essential, with agency experience considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational abilities.
  • Confident client interfacing and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Skilled in analytical and creative problem-solving, handling multiple projects, and prioritizing tasks.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Suite, and other relevant design and project management tools.
  • Highly developed team leadership and interpersonal skills are required, with a proven ability to build and manage professional relationships.

Work Environment
