Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Policy Manager to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our accounting team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Provide strategic input to senior leaders on accounting matters and advise on complex financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate financial risks and ensure effective financial reporting.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations, and implement necessary changes to our policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external regulatory bodies and industry groups to stay informed on key accounting issues.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage projects to improve financial reporting processes and ensure timely and accurate financial disclosures.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in accounting and financial reporting, with a strong background in regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced understanding of SOX, IFRS, and GAAP requirements and potential impacts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and external regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
