Position Summary

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the Guest Room Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean and inviting environment for hotel guests. They ensure rooms meet high standards of cleanliness and promptly address guest requests for supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of assigned guest rooms, adhering to established quality standards.
  • Effectively manage time to complete an average of sixteen (16) guest room cleanings per shift.
  • Thoroughly inspect rooms for any damage or maintenance issues before releasing them for occupancy. Report findings promptly to management.
  • Provide courteous and helpful service to guests, responding to questions and requests for supplies in a timely manner.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, following all established procedures.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of designated boardrooms as assigned.
  • Ensure guest room supplies are adequately stocked before releasing rooms.
  • Assist with the cleaning of common areas within the hotel as directed by management.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for guests and colleagues.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Previous cleaning experience is required; experience in a hotel setting is preferred.
  • Proven customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull moderate weight (minimum of 11.5 kg or 25 lbs).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively to meet daily cleaning targets.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in operating basic cleaning equipment.
  • A commitment to safety practices for oneself and others is crucial.
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required.

Work Environment Considerations:

  • This role operates within a 24/7 environment, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
