About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Holletts Retirement Living Inc. As a key member of our food service team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety in our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of hygiene and food safety.
  • Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
  • Dishwashing: Operate dishwashers and wash dishes, glassware, and flatware by hand.
  • General Kitchen Duties: Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs, and remove kitchen garbage and trash.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Assist with minor maintenance and repair tasks in the kitchen, including sharpening kitchen knives and sweeping, mopping, and polishing floors.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position working 30 to 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
