We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Holletts Retirement Living Inc. As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities:
  • Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs to maintain a clean and safe environment for our residents.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
  • Scour pots and pans to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Handle and store cleaning products safely and efficiently.
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
  • Sharpen kitchen knives to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit for meal preparation.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads.
  • Physically demanding role requiring standing for extended periods and repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask and work as part of a team.
  • Initiative and dependability are essential.
  • Positive attitude and client-focused approach.
Working Conditions:
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) weight handling.
  • Fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
