About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Canadian Boys Construction. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction of residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to ensure precise fit and finish.
  • Build Foundations and Install Roof Systems: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to provide a solid base for our construction projects.
  • Fabricate and Install Finishing Elements: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the finishing touches on our construction projects.
  • Coordinate and Schedule Work: Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure timely completion of projects and minimize delays.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for projects to ensure accurate budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Site Conditions: Work in confined spaces, noisy environments, and dusty conditions, requiring physical stamina and adaptability.
  • Physical Demands: Perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with a high level of physical demand.
Personal Qualities and Suitability
  • Personal Qualities: Possess accurate, client-focused, and reliable qualities, with strong judgement and teamwork skills.
  • Work Term and Language: Work on a permanent basis, with English as the primary language of communication.
  • Work Hours: Work 30 hours per week, with a flexible schedule to accommodate project needs.
