Key Responsibilities- Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to ensure precise fit and finish.
- Build Foundations and Install Roof Systems: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to provide a solid base for our construction projects.
- Fabricate and Install Finishing Elements: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the finishing touches on our construction projects.
- Coordinate and Schedule Work: Schedule and coordinate work on sites to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
- Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for each project to ensure accurate budgeting and planning.
- Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
- Work Site Conditions: Work in confined spaces, noisy environments, and dusty conditions, requiring physical stamina and adaptability.
- Physical Demands: Perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with a high level of physical demand.
- Personal Qualities: Possess accurate, client-focused, and reliable qualities, with strong judgement and teamwork skills.
- Work Term and Hours: Work on a permanent basis, with a regular schedule of 30 hours per week.
- Language and Communication: Communicate effectively in English, with a strong focus on client satisfaction and teamwork.
