About the Role

The Community Initiatives and Agriculture team at Edmonton EXPO Centre is seeking a skilled Agriculture Specialist to join our team on a temporary basis. As an Agriculture Specialist, you will have extensive experience and knowledge of the agriculture industry, including small and large livestock production, animal care best practices, forage and cropping, food production, and the value-add chain.

This role requires a strong understanding of agriculture programming and the ability to develop, implement, and coordinate agricultural programs and experiences that connect urban and rural communities. You will work closely with our team to deliver agriculture experiences at KDays, Farmfair International, and the Canadian Finals Rodeo.

The successful candidate will have a post-secondary education in agriculture, business, or event management, and a minimum of 4 years of experience in agriculture programming. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in collaboration with our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement agricultural programs and experiences that connect urban and rural communities.
  • Work closely with our team to deliver agriculture experiences at KDays, Farmfair International, and the Canadian Finals Rodeo.
  • Provide expert knowledge and advice on agriculture programming and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement marketing strategies for our agricultural programs and experiences.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the agriculture industry.
