Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Finning. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment, providing excellent customer service, and working closely with our supervisor to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Interface with customers to provide exceptional service and support
  • Work closely with the supervisor to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient operations
  • Provide support on on-site safety requirements and maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and meet Finning's Customer Service Commitment
  • Perform various related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification (required)
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
  • Completion of Finning S-level courses (or in the process of completing)
  • Dedication to safety and a strong commitment to teamwork
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to effectively interact with customers
  • Experience with SIS and warranty systems

Assets:

  • Previous field service experience and familiarity with computers
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience

Important Note:

  • Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and wear a respirator
