Service Technician Job Description

Brandt is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team in Chetwynd, reporting to the Fort St. John branch. This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose equipment issues, ordering parts as needed, and performing repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to safety protocols and standards.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems to complete tasks.
  • Accurately document work orders, including machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
  • Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems, such as John Deere Service Advisor, to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
