About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Indigenous Social Worker to join our team at the Niagara Catholic District School Board. As a key member of our Mental Health and Well-being team, you will play a vital role in providing therapy and support services to Indigenous students in our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to Indigenous students with mild to moderate mental health and addiction issues.
  • Conduct psycho-social assessments and develop treatment plans for students.
  • Liaise with community agencies to ensure effective responses to students and families.
  • Consult with school teams to develop strategies for supporting students with mental health concerns.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for school staff.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) or equivalent.
  • Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
  • An Indigenous background.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous people, barriers, and culture.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering culturally responsive services to Indigenous students and families.
  • Three (3) years' experience in a community or educational setting an asset.
