Claims Representative Internship Opportunity
Auto-Owners Insurance is seeking a motivated individual to assist in the claims process as a claims representative intern for the summer. The position requires the individual to:
- Investigate and gather facts, determine policy coverage, and evaluate the amount of loss.
- Become familiar with insurance coverage by studying policies, endorsements, and forms.
- Work towards resolving claims, and may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate claims payments.
- Provide excellent service to agents, policyholders, and others.
- Conduct investigations by phone, mail, and on-site.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled and entering junior or senior year in college.
- Above-average communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to resolve complex issues.
- Organize and interpret data.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Detail-oriented.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly rate of pay is $19/hour. Returning interns qualify for a higher rate of pay. This position is also eligible for a bonus opportunity. Auto-Owners offers a friendly work environment, structured training program, and employee mentoring. Benefits include paid holidays and paid sick leave.
