Academic Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health

We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Psychiatrist to join our team at the University of Alberta, specifically within the Department of Psychiatry. This unique position combines clinical expertise with academic responsibilities, allowing for professional growth and development.
About the RoleThis AMHSP (Academic Medicine and Health Service Program) position is designed for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who is passionate about medical education and/or research. The successful candidate will be involved in teaching undergraduate students and participating in research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and mentor undergraduate medical students as part of the MD program
- Contribute to research projects within the Department of Psychiatry
- Collaborate with AHS (Alberta Health Services) on strategic clinical network initiatives
To be considered for this position, candidates must have an MD degree and certification or eligibility for certification as a Psychiatrist with subspecialty training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Compensation and BenefitsThe compensation package for this role is commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on the six-step Academic Medicine and Health Services Program income scale.
