Job Title: General Duty Nurse

At Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pediatric Department. As a General Duty Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Lead the healthcare team and facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of pediatric medicine and stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and research.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practices in patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program.
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Experience in pediatric medicine, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients and respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PALS certification.
  • Experience with pediatric nursing care, including neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.
  • Knowledge of pediatric-specific policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing situations.
