About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Site Supervisor to join our team at AV Homes Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities on our construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate and schedule activities, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Site Supervision: Supervise and direct construction workers, ensuring they have the necessary tools, equipment, and information to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, and that workers are aware of and comply with safety protocols.
  • Material Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed, and ensure that they are delivered to the site on time.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and instruct individuals, including construction workers, engineers, and other site personnel, to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a construction supervisory role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Outdoors, noisy, at heights, dusty.
  • Work Setting: Construction.

  • Support for Social and Labour Market Integration: Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Recruitment of Newcomers and Refugees: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
  • Support for Foreign Credential Recognition: Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
  • Mentorship Programs: Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
  • Diversity and Cross-Cultural Training: Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • No Canadian Work Experience Required: Does not require Canadian work experience.
Support for Youths
  • Participation in Government or Community Programs: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment.
  • On-the-Job Training: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for youth.
  • Awareness Training: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
Support for Indigenous People
