Training and Development Specialist

Linen Chest, a premier home retail destination in Canada, is seeking a skilled Training and Development Manager to enhance our training efforts in the custom drapery and blinds industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to foster growth, empower talent, and bring technical expertise to the forefront. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our decorators, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver exceptional products and services.
We are rapidly expanding, and we're looking for experienced talent to strengthen our growing shop-at-home division. If you're passionate about developing people and driving success in a dynamic industry, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities- Assess training needs through various methods, including content creation, coaching, and collaboration with managers, office coordinators, and stores, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategies.
- Design and implement engaging training programs tailored to address the unique challenges of the custom window treatments industry, focusing on the custom windows specialists on the road and client issues.
- Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide frequent support and follow-up to ensure objectives are being met, emphasizing lead management, client contacts, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of various business elements of the department and provide strategic input as needed, including measuring improvements in employee performance and business processes.
- Manage the department's training and development budget, efficient use of resources, and collaboration with suppliers and partners.
- Support third-party decorators as part of the Company's Referral and Trade Program initiatives.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of the custom drapery and blinds industry to provide relevant and effective training, with familiarity with Hunter Douglas and/or Alta a plus.
- Exceptional Communication: Ability to convey complex ideas clearly, whether through writing or in person.
- Inspirational Leadership: Motivation and engagement of others to embrace learning and growth.
- Adaptability: Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and adjust training programs accordingly.
- Empathy: Understanding of the importance of fostering an inclusive environment and catering to different learning preferences.
- Organizational Mastery: Ability to juggle multiple projects, keep everything on track, and stay within budget.
