Laboratory Demonstrator Sciences Specialist

Vancouver Community College is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Demonstrator Sciences to provide technical and instructional support in the College Foundations Science laboratories.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory demonstrations, provide assistance to students, and supervise laboratory activities.
- Prepare laboratory and field equipment, instructional support materials, and maintain accurate records of student laboratory and examination performance.
- Perform a wide variety of tasks relative to the operation and maintenance of laboratory apparatus and equipment, ensuring safe conditions in the lab and classroom.
- Assist in the preparation, development, and writing of new laboratory activities, experiments, and assignments.
- Coordinate or participate in laboratory session scheduling and perform other related duties as required.
- Bachelor of Science Degree and 4 years of experience as a science instructional assistant at a post-secondary institution or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
- Proven interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and experience using software applications for classroom instruction and inventory purposes.
- Ability to operate and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and apparatus, knowledge of WorkSafeBC WHMIS regulations, and ability to work variable hours.
