Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist at West Edmonton Mall is responsible for managing the receivable accounts of the company. This role involves performing collections, reconciling complex tenant accounts, and following up on payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a portfolio of AR files with tenants, collecting payments as per lease agreements.
  • Reviewing lease requirements and communicating with tenants about payments due.
  • Verifying and preparing invoices, bank deposits, and sorting incoming customer cheques.
  • Preparing daily cash reports, posting credit memos, and assisting with client dispute resolution.
  • Performing detailed transfers of lease agreement terms to the accounting software system.
  • Interpreting complex lease language and understanding lease calculations, including percentage rent and CPI increases.
  • Assisting with issue resolutions and processing adjustments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience in accounting or accounts receivable.
  • Post-secondary diploma in accounting or a related field.
  • Professional attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and strong attention to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to other software programs.
  • Previous experience with commercial lease agreements and collections.

Terms of Employment:

  • This is a full-time position available Monday to Friday.
  • This position qualifies for our 4-day workweek program.
  • This is a salaried position based on experience and qualifications.
  • Must pass a basic security clearance.
