Accounts Receivable and Grants Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable and Grants Lead to join our Finance team at Explore Edmonton Corporation. This role will be responsible for managing the Accounts Receivable function and leading Grant reporting, ensuring timely and accurate financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and take prompt action to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and send invoices to customers in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and correctly posted.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all customer interactions and transactions, providing transparency and accountability.
  • Prepare regular reports on customer account balances, highlighting any trends or issues that require attention.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to customer accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal staff to obtain approvals for invoices and ensure seamless communication.
  • Manage and maintain accounts receivable email inbox, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of grants, from receiving the grant to reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepare the required reports and documentation for grant submission, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation for accounts receivable and grant accounts, providing a clear and transparent picture of financial performance.
Requirements:
  • An Accounting Degree or Diploma
  • 3-5 years experience in accounts receivable and grant funding
  • 1-2 years managerial experience
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees, external agencies, and stakeholders
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite, Square, ZOHO, and Momentus is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
