Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a comprehensive course on the major theoretical models that guide counselling and psychotherapy, including Psychodynamic, Existential and Humanistic, Cognitive and Behavioural, Social Justice, Postmodern, and Integrative approaches.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop a detailed course planning document outlining relevant learning outcomes, learning activities, and assessments.
- Revise and/or develop content, including learning activities and authentic assessments, to ensure relevance and appropriateness for an online continuous entry course.
- Create multimedia or other active learning activities to enhance student engagement through experiential learning.
- Choose effective and appropriate resources, prioritizing low-cost and accessible options, such as Open Educational Resources (OERs), TRU's e-Library collection, and article databases.
- Accurately cite sources and identify third-party material requiring copyright clearance, respecting intellectual property laws.
- Follow the guidance of the Instructional Designer on the inclusion of AI-generated content.
- PhD in Clinical or Counselling Psychology is required.
- Demonstration of current and ongoing engagement in the course subject matter through research and/or the scholarship of teaching, including dissemination of outcomes in academic venues.
- Recent and substantial experience in clinical or counselling psychology.
- Demonstrated ability to write in a clear and consistent style, with grammatical accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and consultative manner.
- Experience or training in facilitating online instruction is an asset.
