Job Title: Clinical Psychologist

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Hillside Centre-Adult Psychology in Kamloops, B.C. and support mental health clients.

About the Role

The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological services, including assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, and treatment planning in the clinical practice area of Tertiary Mental Health Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides comprehensive psychological assessment services, utilizing standardized and evidenced-based interview and assessment procedures.
  • Within a bio/psycho/social treatment model and working as part of a multidisciplinary team, incorporates psychological assessment results with the broader treatment plan.
  • Provides evidenced-based (including behavioral and cognitive-behavioral) individual short-term therapy/counseling interventions.
  • Supports an interdisciplinary approach to client/patient care and ensures coordination of services/programs with community agencies, other health care providers, and special interest groups.
  • Provides consultation to the treatment team, clients/patients, family, and/or community personnel, regarding management and/or treatment of mental, behavioral, adjustment, and psychosocial disorders.
  • Evaluates effectiveness and appropriateness of treatment and resources by methods such as assessing client/patient functioning, identifying opportunities for change, and formulating recommendations for quality improvement to ensure optimal outcomes are met.
About the Location/Unit

Hillside Centre is a 44-bed facility located on the Royal Inland Hospital campus. Services are provided to both adults and elderly individuals with acute illness and/or severely dysfunctional behaviors who cannot be cared for in the psychiatric system in their own area.
